John C. Hofmann, 95 of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in his home. Born April 23, 1921, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of John G, and Johana (Massell) Hofmann. He was a self employed farmer and also was employed as an inspector for the former Dura Corporation in Toledo. He married Jean E. Domitio on December 9, 1944. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2000. John was a member of the Samaria Lodge 438, F.&A.M., Order of the Eastern Star, #391, Samaria, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo and Salem Lutheran Church in Toledo.
He is survived by his loving son, James Hofmann; sister, Eleanor (Tom) Finn, 4 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Hofmann and grandson, John Hofmann, Jr.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 10, 2017. Masonic services will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Great Lake Hospice or Masonic Home, Alma, MI. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
